Bennett & Kerr Books

Welcome to Bennett and Kerr Books Website.

Bennett & Kerr Books (ABA, ILAB) was begun in 1982 by Edmund Bennett & Andrew Kerr. We specialise in antiquarian, rare and scholarly books on the Middle Ages and Renascence, and issue regular catalogues (including some books not yet on this website). We have over eight thousand volumes in stock in our rather utilitarian warehouse, at the end of a farmyard, beyond the church, in the picturesque village of Steventon, south of Oxford. Visitors are welcome - we are usually open 9.30-5.30 Mon-Fri and for a shorter time on Saturday, but we recommend telephoning first (01235 820604) to avoid disappointment. The nearest rail station is Didcot, and the X2 bus runs Oxford-Didcot via Abingdon and Steventon; we are 15 minutes' walk down The Causeway from the bus stop, if you're not held up at the railway crossing. Our Catalogue 200, books which belonged to the art historian C R Dodwell, and Catalogue 201, including a section on the Crusades & the Islamic world, are both still current, and our Midsummer catalogue (202) has just been issued. There seems to have been a PROBLEM with website orders this July, so for the time being please direct enquiries to us at: bennettkerr@aol.com.

Here's an Ethiopian psalter - it looks old, but is probably 19th or even 20th century.
