Bennett & Kerr Books

Welcome to Bennett and Kerr Books Website.

Bennett & Kerr Books (ABA, ILAB) was begun in 1982 by Edmund Bennett & Andrew Kerr. We specialise in antiquarian, rare and scholarly books on the Middle Ages and Renascence, and issue regular catalogues (including some books not yet on this website). We have over eight thousand volumes in stock in our warehouse (repainted in racing green) at the end of a farmyard, beyond the church, in the picturesque village of Steventon, south of Oxford. While some Covid19 restrictions are still in force, visitors are welcome by arrangement - please telephone first (01235 820604). The nearest rail station is Didcot, and the X2 bus runs Oxford-Didcot via Abingdon and Steventon; we are 15 minutes' walk down The Causeway from the bus stop, if you're not held up at the railway crossing. Recent catalogues have included books from the collections of the late Ursula Dronke and Michael Clanchy, and from the library of recently retired Professor Rosamond McKitterick. Our latest Catalogue 225 (1042 items) is out this March - please ask if you'd like a copy. If you have any problems with website orders please direct-email to bennettkerr@aol.com, or just telephone us.
